Permian officials turned off Google and Social Network Services


 
GOOGLE Perm Administration officials completely disconnected services of Google. It is reported Permian online newspaper TEXT. Not only Google services are blocked but also the social network websites like VK and Facebook are also blocked.
The newspaper said officials can not use the search engine Google, Gmail, and Google video service YouTube. However, officials are still allowing other foreign search engines, in particular, Bing. Inaddition, the administration of the province also blocked the access to the social network VKontakte – The Russian Social Network and Facebook – The worlds biggest Social Network.
Its not been officially reported of such event from happening. Officials in the administration declined to comment, however, they will provide their views later on.
On Monday, 11 November, it was reported that in the Rostov region the local Ministry of Information Technology and Communications made recommendations to officials refuse to use services ofGoogle. The ministry called “undesirable” to use the company’s products in the programs developed for education systems, as well as in training working with the Internet elderly.
Initiatives to restrict access to the products of foreign Internet companies heard in Russia over the past few months, including at the federal level. In the summer of 2013 the State Duma deputy Ilya Kostunov forward the initiative to ban use Google for correspondence to government officials.
